Cannot escape in the name of personal privacy
Amravati: The High Court bench has ruled that the Aadhaar Authority (UIDAI) cannot refuse to provide Aadhaar details in the name of personal privacy. It has made it clear that the right to privacy cannot be used as a shield to escape the law. It said that there is no absolute prohibition on providing information under Section 33(1) of the Aadhaar Act. It said that the details can be provided as per the court order with appropriate safeguards.
