Center's search for next Chief Justice
The Centre has started preparations for the appointment of the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. It has asked the current CJI Justice BR Gavai to recommend the name of the new CJI. Meanwhile, it is said that senior Supreme Court judge Justice Suryakant will get the opportunity to be the next CJI. Justice Gavai's term will end on November 23.
