Closure of Kedarnath and Yamunotri temples
Rudraprayag: With the onset of winter, the Uttarakhand authorities have closed the holy shrines of Kedarnath and Yamunotri temples in the Himalayas. On this occasion, the closing ceremonies were held with great pomp on Thursday. The procession of the palanquin of Kedarnath from Rudraprayag began with great pomp amidst the sound of army drums and slogans of about ten thousand devotees. The procession will reach the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath by Saturday. Kedarnath will be worshipped in that temple for the remaining six months.
