Onion procurement price increased to Rs 15.80
New Delhi: The Centre has increased the procurement price of onions. The price of onions procured under the buffer stock programme has been increased by 24.4% to Rs 15.80 per kg. It is currently at Rs 12.70. The price has been increased to support farmers in line with market conditions, said Anupam Mishra, Additional Secretary, Union Food Department on Monday. The onion procurement process started from May 15. He said that a notification regarding the increased price was issued on May 22.
