New Delhi: The Supreme Court has criticized the ongoing differences between temporary and permanent employees in terms of wages and retirement benefits. It has advised the government not to discriminate between those doing the same type of work. It has set aside the Patna High Court's verdict that pension benefits will not be provided to temporary employees who have worked in the postal department for a few decades and then retired. The bench opined that social security and pension benefits should not be denied to temporary employees who have worked for a long time.
