This year, Indians have ordered 93 million biryanis through Swiggy. So, it is said that biryani is the most ordered item on the food delivery platform. Biryani has topped the list of most ordered dishes on Swiggy for the 10th consecutive year.
According to Swiggy's year-end report, it has been said that "Biryani is the king of foods". This fragrant dish has even today achieved a grip in its taste and diversity. Indians used to order a biryani every 3.25 seconds on Swiggy. That is 194 biryanis per minute. This data does not take into account orders made through other apps like Zomato and directly from restaurants. According to a Swiggy report, 93 million biryanis were ordered in 2025. Chicken biryani was the most popular biryani with 57.7 million orders. Biryani has completed a decade as the most popular dish on Swiggy.
Along with biryani, other dishes have also seen a rise in popularity. Burgers are the second most popular food with 44.2 million orders. The third most ordered dish on Swiggy in 2025 was pizza with 40.1 million orders. Dosa is another favorite among vegetarians with 26.2 million orders. People have appreciated our company. Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Marketplace, said that by receiving this much order in 2025, Swiggy has achieved a huge milestone in the food delivery platform.
