Over one lakh petrol pumps in the country
India's fuel retail market has occupied the 3rd position after China and the US. The number of outlets has doubled in ten years to 1,00,266. Of these, 29% are in rural areas. This has resulted in better services for customers, said Ashok, former chairman of IOL. Petrol and diesel, as well as CNG and EV charging stations, have become available. However, the participation of private companies like Reliance and Nayara in this sector is less than 10%.
