Central Government Backtracks on Aravalli Mining
The central government has imposed a ban on mining in the Aravalli mountain range. The Environment Ministry issued orders to this effect, clarifying that no mining will take place from now on. It is known that widespread concerns were expressed across the country regarding mining activities that were damaging the Aravalli mountain range. A large-scale campaign was also conducted on social media with the hashtag ‘SAVE ARAVALI’. Following this, the central government backed down.
