Chennai, December 23: The Chennai High Court has issued a significant order that children will not be allowed to attend New Year celebrations. The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to immediately investigate and take action if complaints are received that children are being taken to places where alcohol is consumed, including star hotels and restaurants. Usually, during the New Year celebrations, various programs are organized in star hotels and apartments on the Chennai Marina Beach, which attract a large number of people, especially in the beach areas, barricades are erected and special arrangements are made. It is customary for the public to celebrate with their families, and the police impose various restrictions to prevent any untoward incident during these celebrations. Specifically, various restrictions are imposed such as not driving at high speed, not driving under the influence of alcohol and not going to certain areas. Do not bring children on New Year's Eve The complaint states that on December 31 last year, children were brought to a place to drink alcohol during the New Year celebrations at a private star hotel in Egmore. The petitioner said that this act is legally wrong and against the Juvenile Justice Act and expressed grief that it affects the future of children and destroys their lives. He said in the petition that action should be taken against the star hotel for allowing children to party in an area where alcohol is consumed. He requested that the government be ordered to ensure that children do not participate in New Year celebrations held in star hotels in areas where alcohol is consumed as the New Year approaches. The case was heard by a bench of Chief Justice M.M. Srivastava and Justice G. Arulmurugan's bench ordered government officials to immediately investigate and take action if there are complaints that children are being taken to places where alcohol is consumed in star hotels and restaurants during the upcoming New Year celebrations, and closed the case.
