Godavari Flowing Rapidly
The Godavari River is in spate. While water levels are receding upstream, they are rising in the Eluru and West Godavari districts. A second danger warning was issued after the water level crossed 48 feet at Bhadrachalam on Friday, followed by a third danger warning when it reached 53 feet at 12:15 AM. The water level reached 54.8 feet by Saturday morning, rose to 56.10 feet at 12 PM and 57.50 feet at 5 PM, before receding to 53.10 feet by 11 PM. Meanwhile, a flood inflow of four lakh cusecs reached the Vashishta branch at Narsapuram.
