Agricultural activity with artificial leg
Ramanna from Hirearalihalli village in Yelaburga taluk of the district is a rare farmer who has turned hardship into strength. Despite losing a leg in a bike accident 12 years ago, he has not fallen behind in the race of life. Ramanna, who is farming on his farm with the help of machinery and a locally available artificial leg, has turned his physical disability into a weapon.
Income of Rs. 9 lakh from tomato seed production alone
Involved in seed production along with vegetable crops including tomatoes, brinjals, chillies and saute, he has earned an income of around Rs. 9 lakh from tomato seed production alone this year. Ramanna, who sets out for the field since early morning, handles all agricultural activities including intercropping, weed control, watering and spraying of pesticides himself through machines attached to a diesel engine.
Ramanna, who demonstrated his achievements in front of those who mocked him
