Vehicles that communicate
New Delhi: The Centre has decided to implement the 'Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication system' across the country in a phased manner, aiming to enhance road safety, prevent accidents on highways, and promote the use of connected technologies. In this regard, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a draft notification proposing amendments to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. According to the proposal, the installation of this system will be optional for L, M, and N category vehicles manufactured on or after October 1, 2027.
