PM-RAHAT: Assurance for Road Accident Victims
Illandakunta (Karimnagar): Many lives are lost in road accidents. Lives can be saved if those injured in accidents receive timely medical care. The first hour following a road accident is known as the "Golden Hour"; providing appropriate medical treatment during this period can prevent nearly 50% of fatalities. With this objective, the Central Government introduced the PM-RAHAT (Road Accident Victim Hospitalisation and Assured Treatment) scheme. It provides immediate, free, and cashless medical treatment to road accident victims.
